In the early days of the United States, there was a real shortage of small changes. This was solved in part by foreign producers of coppers shipping over some copper cents that could be used for commerce. These were minted in England by the request of Talbot, Allum & Lee in New York. They were used as one cent pieces for their business. This example is exceptionally nice in the MS65BN grade. Lots of luster and good eye appeal.
