Price might seem a little steep, but this is actually the 2nd finest known example of the 1847 in the Newcomb-11 variety. The coin once sold at auction for $1700 in 2017. For copper collectors, the importance of the piece, including the pedigree is paramount. This is the auction description:1847 N-11 R4 PCGS graded MS63 Brown, CAC Approved. Very attractive frosty light to medium chocolate brown with a puff of slightly darker chocolate brown toning at ERICA into the leaves below. The only mark is a small spot of darker toning at the hair under the ear lobe. The fields are very slightly reflective thanks to a fresh die polishing and this cent offers excellent eye appeal. EDS, die state a. Our grade is MS60, tied for CC[#2](https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/2/) honors in the Grellman census. The attribution and Tucker provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; none finer for the variety. Ex Chris McCawley 12/26/2008-Dr. Bruce Tucker Collection.
