This is a great collector's grade - XF45. Most issues of tougher series (seated dollars, bust quarter, O mint eagles and half eagles) - these can be collected at the XF45 grade. The coin maintains most of its detail. Many XF45 coins exhibit great eye appeal. They were circulated and few tempted their owners to "shine" them up through cleaning, which is what often happened with AU and MS examples of these old coins. The 1872 seated dollar from Philadelphia was minted in numbers and entered the economy in large numbers. Today they are not hard to find. This coin exhibits great eye appeal.
