Do you know the story of the Saddle Ridge hoard? A couple was out walking their dog in old California gold rush territory when they stumbled upon what looked like a very old metal can sticking up out of the ground. Upon closer inspection, the glint of gold caught their eye. A few panic attacks later, something around 1400 gold coins, preserved from the mid-1890s were unearthed and conserved through Kagins. Today these are almost all on the market and command high premiums, both for the quality of the preservation as well as the historic coolness factor of owning a piece of the largest buried treasure discovery in the United States.
